You get through the first part of the day without much trouble. You’re alert enough. Functional enough. Then lunch happens. And not long after, it hits.
You can’t keep your eyes open. You’re staring at your computer screen, but nothing is going in. You read the same sentence over and over and still can’t process it. Your brain feels heavy and foggy at the same time — classic afternoon brain fog. Thinking takes real effort.
You reach for coffee, even if you already had some earlier. It helps just enough to keep you upright. But it doesn’t really fix anything. So you get up and go for a walk, not for exercise, but just to stay awake. You’re trying to shake yourself out of it. It helps a little. Then you sit back down, and the fog creeps right back in.
This isn’t an occasional bad afternoon. This is what most days look like after lunch.
